Industry is one axis of the directory, not a category of product. The same agent can appear under several industries, and a product that serves an industry as its primary market is listed ahead of one that merely supports it.
8 industries with coverage
Counts are computed from the current dataset — an empty industry is shown as empty rather than padded.
Banking, insurance, capital markets and payments — environments where answers must cite a source and actions must be auditable.
Care delivery, life-science research, and clinical operations subject to strict privacy and regulatory constraints.
Store operations, e-commerce fulfilment, merchandising and post-purchase service.
Production, plant operations, quality and industrial supply chains.
Advisory, legal, accounting and consultancy firms where knowledge work is the core deliverable.
Telecom operators and IT service providers operating large-scale infrastructure.
Software companies and technology businesses, including developer-facing tooling.
Government agencies and public institutions, where procurement and audit rules are explicit.
10 industries not yet covered
These categories exist so the taxonomy does not have to be rewritten later, but no entry in the dataset covers them yet. We would rather say so than fill the space.
How industry is used in this directory
A product may serve several industries. Each association is recorded on the product, not inferred from its name.
Where a record declares a primary industry, that product is ranked ahead inside the industry page and in industry-filtered search. No record has been assessed for this yet, so no primary-industry filter is offered.
Industry never replaces agent type, business function or deployment. Those are independent axes and are filtered separately.
